The quest continues . . .
There is much to say about - and even more to learn about - the subject of happiness. It is, doubtless, a huge topic! Wikipedia.com states that, "A variety of biological, psychological, religious and philosophical approaches have striven to define happiness and identify its sources. Various research groups, including positive psychology, are employing the scientific method to research questions about what 'happiness' is, and how it might be attained."
In his book, Happier: Learn the Secrets to Daily Joy and Lasting Fulfillment, acclaimed author and noted Harvard University teacher, Tal Ben-Shahar, says that the question of finding lasting happiness is "the question of questions."
Throughout the centuries, people have pondered its place in the human experience. The United States' Declaration of Independence lists the pursuit of happiness as one of the inalienable rights granted by our Creator while acclaimed philosophers like Viktor Frankl say that "It is the very pursuit of happiness that thwarts happiness." Contemporary authors like Gretchen Rubin live their lives on its journey, and even Coca-Cola has gotten in on the adventure!
